Auto-naming of PDF files
Currently my PDF files are named like this
2025_04_09_appsumo_d933628d-9d5b-4749-be51-cc1a355a2d89
8_27_2022_AD017795839
2025-04-02_github_10_13CYCHHE_ch_3R9r0XJFr6CCHwIi13cYcHhE
Which isn’t that hot :) So what I would prefer is
YYMMDD_VENDOR_CURRENCY_AMOUNT.PDF
250409_appsumo_usd_25.23.pdf
220827_adobe_usd_14.99.pdf
250402_github_usd_9.99.pdf
That way the names are close to perfect and can just stay that way…
The only thing that could be improved is separating them into folders by
YEAR_VENDOR/
YEAR/VENDOR/
etc.

@Miquel Palet López when downloading the invoices they do still have their cryptic names even though I adjusted in the settings.
So I imagine the right workflow is:
- saying no to also download the invoices
- have the correct file name settings before downloading them
- then downloading the zip file that would then have the correct names
is that correct?

Yes! That’s correct. Only if downloading them from the dashboard they’ll have the corrected filenames :)

Also i just changed it in the settings and then downloaded the zip again and inside the zip its still the old naming convention with the id

My recommendation make this the default “YYMMDD_VENDOR_CURRENCY_AMOUNT.PDF” and if people like the id they can do it themselves :)

Yes I’m wondering why it isn’t the default. ie why does a new user get these cryptic looking names with GUIDs in them

I’m rejecting this on the roadmap as you can already set this up on the Settings tab > File Name Settings.
You can set up exactly that same template, so let me know if you need any help with that!
